Today I have my January Book Haul and Wrap-Up! January has been a very interesting month for me. I had so many plans and big dreams about everything that I wanted to accomplish with the new year (like everyone else), but was totally slapped in the face with several cases of illness and general laziness. Because of that, I didn’t really get around to as much reading as I wanted to in order to meet my yearly Goodreads goal of 100 books. To stay on track, I needed to read 8-9 books this month, but have only read 5. On top of that, I fully intended to be more consistent with my blog posts, but have only post a handful of times this month.

On the other hand, January was a really cool month because I’ve been getting a lot of attention on my blog. I’ve had authors reach out to me to review their books, I conducted my first author interview, and I have many other things in the works. Plus, I purchased new photography equipment to help me improve my Instagram and blog photos. In that sense, I’m quite proud with the progress that I have made in January.

January Book Wrap-Up

 January Book Wrap-up

  1. The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho
  2. The Quantum Door by Jonathan Ballagh
  3. American Born Chinese by Gene Luen Yang
  4. The Shadow Hero by Gene Luen Yang and Sonny Liew

Admittedly, two of these books are graphic novels and were read for classes that I’m currently taking. HOWEVER, I still totally think they count. It’s not cheating. Nope.

Look, keeping up a reading schedule is really hard when you’re sick and incredibly lazy.

January Book Haul:

January Book Haul

I got a total of seven books in my January book haul, BUT I was sent three of them in exchange for honest reviews. So I really only spent money on four books this month, which I think is pretty good. Especially considering it was almost way more when I maybe might have almost purchased this lovely wooden chest box set of the original hardback US editions of the Harry Potter series. But I didn’t, because that would have been crazy… haha…

And so, the books I got were:

  1. Wayfarer by Alexandra Bracken
  2. The Quantum Door by Jonathan Ballagh
  3. The Eye of Nefertiti by Maria Luisa Lang
  4. Rarity From the Hollow by Robert Eggleton
  5. City of Bones by Cassandra Clare
  6. City of Ashes by Cassandra Clare
  7. City of Heavenly Fire by Cassandra Clare

The books I bought by Cassandra Clare were actually just repurchases because the current set of books I have don’t all match and I wanted all of the hardcovers for a nice set. I was actually able to find them for an awesome price on Amazon, less than $23 total for all three! You can check that shit out here, here, and here, or buy the nice box set which includes all 6 books in The Mortal Instruments series and I am totally drooling over. Anyway, they aren’t all pictured here because of shipping dates and such, but I did buy them in January so I am including them in my January haul!
