A Day in the Life of a Book Blogger
Have you ever wanted to take a peek into the life of a book blogger? Or are you perhaps a book blogger yourself, and curious to see how others in your field spend their time? Well consider this to be your lucky day! I’m going to share with you my
typical ideal day in the life of a book blogger.
It’s rise and shine at 7:00 am every day for me! I like to start my day off early, since I’m just an ambitious little thing and I need all the time in the world to accomplish all the things.
7:30/8:00 AM to 9:00 AM
Gym time! I do some cardio every day, and every other day I like to do strength training. I’m not going to spout off all the reasons why it’s important to get some exercise in (because you all know that). But I believe it’s really important for me, as someone who spends most of her day sitting at the computer. Getting a little exercise in during the morning helps me get my day off to a great start.
9:00 AM – 10:00 AM
Showering and breakfast. Currently, I’m focusing on my health a little more. I’ve cut out processed carbs and sugar, so I usually eat something protein and fruit-based for my breakfast.
10:00 AM – 11:00 AM
It’s email and education time! I love my E&E time because it allows me to a free hour to learn a little something everyday. I’m constantly looking for ways to improve my website, writing skill, and time management, so this hour is very important to me.
11:00 AM – 2:00 PM
Blog time! I spend these three hours working on tasks for Foxy Readers. This often includes writing blog posts, doing research for blog posts, and improving the website. I will also spend a little time here working on the Foxy Readers social pages, like my Bookstagram account and Facebook page.
I’m a very cluttered person. I try to stay organized but I just have too much stuff and not enough storage lol.
2:00 PM – 5:00 PM
Sometime in this time chunk I will eat a little lunch, but I don’t take an official “lunch break”. I usually like to keep working as I eat, but if I take a break at all it’s usually less than twenty minutes.
Lately, I’ve been spending this three-hour chunk of time working on research for a new blog I want to get up and running. It’s going to be a personal/lifestyle blog, not as much focused on books like Foxy Readers is, but highlighting other aspects of my life. I really enjoy reading others’ personal blogs, and I think it would be a great way to document my own life.
5:00 PM – 7:00 PM
I take a nice 2-hour break in the evening to cook and eat dinner with my fiance. We love food, and we’re both into cooking so this is an important time of the day for us. We normally stick to something with protein and lots of veggies. Usually when we eat, we like to watching something on YouTube or Netflix. Lately, we’ve gotten back into watching Archer.
7:00 PM – 10:00 PM
Are you surprised? Yes, I work all day long.
After my dinner break, I like to work for an additional three hours on my writing projects. I find that I’m most creative at night, though a little less organized. That’s fine for me, though, because my creativity is what’s important since I’m currently working on the small details of outlining between my first and second drafts of my first book I’ve ever written. When I move on to the actual writing of the second draft, I may need to move this writing time to earlier in the day, but we will just wait and see!
10:00 PM – 11:00 PM
In order to wind down (and stay on my reading schedule!) I like to take one hour before bed to read. This is a great way to relax before sleeping, and I often like to enjoy a cup of chamomile tea as well.
11:00 PM – 7:00 AM
Sleep! And look, even though I spend all day working (and well into the evening), I’m still able to get a full 8 hours of sleep.
I’ve really been enjoying this daily schedule lately. I also wanted to mention how thankful I am that I am able to dedicate all of my time to pursuing my passions. It’s because I’m in my last term of college, and only taking two online classes that I am able to have such a free schedule. I recognize that not everyone has this kind of “free time” available to put towards their passions, but my goal is for these passions to eventually become my job and my personal source of income.
Let’s talk about it
