Ever since I first created my Bookstagram page, I have been coveting bookish merchandise, but none as much as bookish candles. Through exploration and by following accounts that represent these beautiful candle shops, I began filling up my Etsy wishlist with amazing candles inspired by books.

And one day, I finally caved and made my first bookish candle purchase. The first bookish candle Etsy shop I ever purchased from was From The Page!

So why was the wonderful Callie (@fromthepage on Instagram) the first beautiful seller I decided to buy from?

Let me go through the many reasons why From The Page was my first choice for candles.

  1. The price. Each 8 oz candle is $11.50 +shipping, which is just about the lowest price I’ve seen on the Etsy-bookish-candle-marketplace.
  2. Bundle options. Callie offers bundles on candles where you can buy two, three, or four candles all together for a discounted price. And the best part is that you get to choose which scents you want to bundle! Choose from her full selection! That was a major bonus for me.
  3. Variety. In addition to the 8oz. glass jars, you can also purchase smaller 4 oz. tins, 3 oz. wax tarts, lip balm, and beard oil. Yup, you read that right. Beard oil. I’m already imagining the oils I’ll buy for my BF if he still has a beard around the holiday season!
  4. Scents. Okay, I know this is the stuff you’ve been wanting to read about. The scents. The scents. Oh wow. Callie has outdone herself. There’s such a variety. Fandoms included: Harry PotterAlice in WonderlandThe Lord of the Rings and The HobbitThe Mortal InstrumentsGame of Thrones, etc. Definitely go check out the options because she has seriously outdone herself and provided multiple scent options for each fandom.

I went with one of the bundle deals since those are obviously the best value, and I’m a college student on a budget. I bought three candles in total, which is $32.50 +shipping. The three scents I chose were: Hagrid’s Pumpkin Patch, The North, The Cauldron.

Hagrid’s Pumpkin Patch, fandom: Harry Potter. I bought this one in preparation for fall, and I’m oh so glad that I did. The scent is particularly pumpkin-y, but not in an overwhelming way. I really suggest that you make sure you enjoy the typical autumnal pumpkin candle scent before purchasing this, though, because it is intense (to my own personal delight). Callie describes the scent on her listing: “The scent is Pumpkin Souffle, which is pumpkin with butter, sugar, and spice.”

The North, fandom: Game of Thrones. Like Hagrid’s Pumpkin Patch, I purchased this scent in preparation for the upcoming winter/Christmas season. This scent is very peppermint-y. It’s a kind of sweeter peppermint scent, though the notes of mint are very strong. Once again, this is a scent for the true peppermint lovers! I’ve never had such a scent in a candle, and I’m excited to see how it sets the mood in the colder winter months. Callie describes the scent on her listing: “The fragrances used are Peppermint and Eucalyptus.”

The Cauldron, fandom: A Court of Thorns and Roses. Okay, I’ll be honest here, I actually had no idea this candle was for the Sarah J. Maas clan as I hadn’t actually read her A Court of Thorns and Roses series yet. I seriously thought that I was buying another Harry Potter candle haha. But by the time I had received the candles, I had finished A Court of Mist and Fury and I was absolutely delighted with this happy little mistake. This is a very unique scent, and wasn’t one that I paid particular attention to before making the purchase. However, this was another happy surprise for me! The scent is perfect for nights, I think. Callie describes the scent on her listing as: “an enchanting rich mix of Amber, clove and oakmoss!

Overall opinions:

I am so, so, so thrilled that I ordered these candles by From The Page. I have been very pleased with my experience purchasing from Callie! I even took a few pictures of the candles I purchased with the corresponding books and tagged her Instagram page in the image and she reposted the image!
